Let the Games Begin

  Well, the Festival has come and gone, and the kids are returning to school. The election is 70 days away and the people of Bucyrus have an opportunity to restore adults to city government. This is my follow-up message why I feel it’s time to return to City Council, with your help of course. Here is what’s happened since I first began on Council. My first term on Council we finished up the Downtown Revitalization Project, later adding outdoor seating and turning the crumbling Shrine’s Theater into a beautiful park while using little to no city taxpayer funds. We built a new water filtration plant that will serve the community for several generations and are expanding water out of the city limits to help our neighbors receive clean water. With the help of the Safety Services levy we passed in 2013 we have shored up our Police and Fire personnel, purchased new vehicles and finally after 8 years of discussions the city will be providing EMS service to our citizens and surrounding to...

A Time for Sowing

  There certainly has been a lot of drama down at City Hall in the past few years. As an At-Large candidate if elected I will represent every individual in the City of Bucyrus. For years all I’ve wanted to do was to make things better in our little corner of the world. I struggle if I push too much or give in too easily. It is a balancing act, a give and take, we can’t always have it our way, I realize that. Sometimes it seems that we do things that are not reasonable just for the greater good of the community or for the benefit of future generations. But we must keep pushing forward. It seems for the past couple of years that the only thing City Council has achieved is arguments, discourse, and resignations. It is time we change that, we have to come together. We have a lot of work ahead of us. As I have since 2010 I plan to continue to push for ways to increase our city revenue, explore ways to cut costs and provide more to the citizens while spending less. I am excited about all...
